Orange Tour hits Washington, DC

Today the Orange Tour hits Washington, DC and 4 other members of my church and I are going.  All of them except me have never been to an Orange gathering before so I'm really excited to be going down with all of them.

Throughout the day I will be tweeting and posting pictures, thoughts and blogs (some may come tomorrow) on what happened and our experience at the Tour stop!  So, follow me all day today on twitter or follow this blog for up to date info.

What makes you an expert?

Moving into my 15th year of full-time youth and family ministry, I began to wonder, what makes someone an expert in their field?  Are you an expert if you work over a certain number of years at 1 particular church?  What if you write a book or have one of Youth Cartel's top 25 Youth Ministry blogs?  Does that make you an expert?  Are you a wiser veteran if you have gray hair, a seminary degree or a white collar around your neck?

What is it that makes someone an expert in their field where others can learn from them and where their "voice" is worth listening to?  And, does it even matter?
